Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 15, 2026 Current version

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains clearly what we collect, why, and how we protect it. TryHost is a free service and we keep our data practices minimal and transparent.

Information We Collect

When you register for a subdomain, we collect only what's necessary to process your request:

  • Your name — displayed publicly in the domain registry
  • Email address — kept private, used only for domain status updates
  • GitHub repository URL — verified to be public before approval
  • Requested subdomain — displayed publicly in the registry

We do not collect passwords, payment information, or any sensitive personal data.

How We Use Your Information

  • To process and approve your domain registration request
  • To notify you by email about your domain's status (approved, rejected, or revoked)
  • To contact you if your domain is found to be in violation of our Terms of Service
  • To populate the public domain registry so others can see what's being built
We will never sell, rent, or share your private information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

What Is Publicly Visible

The following information is shown on the public Domain Registry page and may be indexed by search engines:

  • Your developer name (as entered in the registration form)
  • Your registered subdomain
  • Your linked GitHub repository URL
  • The status of your domain (Pending / Approved / Rejected)
  • The date your domain was registered

Your email address is never shown publicly.

Third-Party Services

  • Supabase — our database and backend provider. All registration data is stored on Supabase's servers. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
  • Advertising networks — we show non-intrusive ads to fund the service. Ad partners may use cookies to serve relevant ads. You can opt out via your browser's ad settings or a tool like uBlock Origin.
  • Google Fonts — fonts are loaded from Google's CDN. Google may log font requests. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

Your registration data is retained for as long as your subdomain is active. If your domain is permanently rejected or you request deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. We may retain anonymised, aggregated statistics (e.g. total registration counts) indefinitely.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data and domain registration

To exercise any of these rights, email support@vikramai.top with the subject "Data Request".

Cookies

TryHost itself does not set first-party cookies. Our advertising partners may set third-party cookies for ad personalisation. You can block these via your browser settings without affecting the core functionality of our service.
